Governor's Advisory Council on Domestic and Sexual Violence Response
Training Opportunities

The Governor's Advisory Council on Domestic and Sexual Violence Response developed discipline specific domestic and sexual violence training curricula for professionals in the criminal justice and victim services fields with the purpose of creating a consistent coordinated response to victims.  A specific curriculum was created for each of the following professions:

  • Communication Specialists
  • Law Enforcement
  • Community-Based Advocates
  • System-Based Victim Assistance Staff
  • Corrections Officers/Community Supervision Staff

The curricula provide comprehensive, up-to-date information to address basic, as well as new and emerging issues, and moves beyond information-based training towards building skills.  The Council has selected qualified trainers from the field to form regional training teams and provide the domestic and/or sexual violence training in Kansas to their peers.

Training Teams and Staff are available to provide this valuable training to your agency and community.  Training Teams will review the curriculum with you and work to customize the training to your needs.
